Releases on IT:

From his early days in Le Car to last year's smash "Flesh and Bone" with The Hacker (highlighting Perspects' vocal prowess), the music of Ian Clark has been making an impact for over a decade.

We believe this is Perspects' strongest music to date. With his unified PEOPLESKILLS concept, Perspects shares new directions and ideas. This is demonstrated by his heavy vocal presence (sometimes in a Bryan Ferry vs. Brian Eno sort of way) and the incorporation of live drums into his sequenced sound, hinting at a whole new sound and approach. This is apparent in his live performances, which now feature a full drum kit alongside live vocals, analog synthetic drums, and sequencing.

Perspects :: Utterly Unique and Timelessly Classic

Perspects is the primary project of Detroit-based musician, producer and multimedia artist Ian Clark. Following some initial formative development at the local art college, various bedrooms, warehouse parties, and art dives, his first official releases appeared through Detroit's influential Ersatz Audio label. First as Lesseninglesson, then as a founding member of Le Car, and finally Perspects.

After making appearances on a variety of labels - such as Clone, Suction, Ghostly International and others - and a brief collaboration with vocalist Mark Erwin, Perspects came to rest at longtime friend BMG's cult label, Interdimensional Transmissions.

Perspects utilizes the human voice, tapes, electro-acoustic percussion and analog sequences to create a dense, propulsive music perfectly attuned to the pains of a culture which has outgrown its body.
